UK Anti-cheat Software Develop
Software August 31st, 2010
LONDON – Plagiarism or often referred to increasingly rampant plagiarism by students in the UK. That makes the teachers planned to use anti-plagiarism software to determine originality works.
Barry Calvert nLearning-developer of anti-plagiarism software, Turnitin has developed software to express it can detect the authenticity of the works of the students. At least the software has been used for more than 90 schools and 130 colleges.
Bignewsnetwork, Tuesday (06/22/2010) launched Turnitin is used to cross check the work of children’s online materials. Barry says that young children should be sensitive about the use of online materials as reference sources, not just take pieces of text from the internet and claiming it as their own.
Likewise it, Dan Rigby Manchester University economics professor revealed that although the sample used for testing the software spelled out small, but the results are very good. He found nearly approximately 45 percent of students cheating during the task, or even exams.
During the year 2009, known as 4400 students and students affected by sanctions because of plagiarism cases. “We must tell the students to understand that the Internet is not the only source, and students should actually work themselves to find other sources are not the same with the Internet,” said Calvert
Fastest supercomputer in Japan Starts Operations
Hardware August 31st, 2010
TOKYO – Tokyo Institute of Technology will soon launch their homemade supercomputer to operate in November 2010.
Hardware-named Tsubame 2.0 it will become the fastest supercomputers in Japan. Computers can calculate the 2400 trillion times per second, or 12 times faster than the supercomputer at the Japan Atomic Energy Agency that currently the fastest in the country
However, as reported by Japan Today, Monday (06/21/2010), Tsubame 2.0 is expected to be overtaken by the Riken supercomputer other. Institute for natural sciences institution, will begin to develop a next-generation supercomputer in 2012.
According to the university, Tsubame 2.0, capable of ‘processing’ around 4200 graphics processing units, and planned to be installed in the space of 200 square meters within the university.
Tsubame 2.0 To develop, the university should spend a total cost of 3.2 billion yen for the computer itself and the software. Meanwhile, funds amounting to 100 million yen will be needed each year to cover the cost of electricity as well as several hundred million yen for maintenance.
University says it plans to open access to supercomputers for students and researchers in universities and companies and research institutions outside the school.
Ownership permission can be managed via iPhone
Software August 31st, 2010
LONDON – Technology developed in order to facilitate human activity. It seems that police motivate Sussex, England to help accelerate the process of service to the community who want to take care of permits possession of firearms.
Sussex Police to develop the iPhone application that can be used by the owners permission to extend the ownership of firearms without bothering to go to the police office. The application also allows iPhone owners to access information and other police services simply by pressing the button on the touch screen iPhone.
For the owners of firearms, they could fill the license renewal application form and send it to the police. Later, police officers will go to users who have filed a renewal application.
With this application, the police able to save on operating costs approximately 3 billion pounds. Thus reported by the Telegraph, Tuesday (06/20/2010).
The plan, discussion of this iPhone application will be further discussed at a meeting of the British police to Wales on 25 June. Section, the use of these applications still get criticism from some circles.
Kian De Loach, head of Multimedia and e-services, Sussex Police said this application represents an effective step for the police. He cited, for usage of paper will be less and less form filling. And of course will facilitate the members of the police in their work.

ISLAMABAD – The Case insult to the Prophet Muhammad in the social networking site Facebook is still a long tails in Pakistan. The emergence of fan page ‘Draw’ Muhammad Day ‘is indeed time to make the Pakistani government to block Facebook for a while and then reopen the site.
But do not just stop there, are now a number of Pakistan’s lawyers asked the police to investigate Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg on charges of contempt of religion. If proven, the sanctions threatened Zuckerberg death penalty for such cases.
As is known, then in May 2010, a group of facebookers announce to the world if tomorrow, precisely dated May 20, 2010 is a day where everyone is allowed to draw sketches of the Prophet Muhammad. Fan page titled ‘Draw Mohammed’s Day Everybody! This invited criticism from many users of Facebook from Islamic countries.
Lawyer from Pakistan, Muhammad Siddique filed Zahar ‘First Information Report (FIR)’ in order to immediately investigate Zuckerberg under the terms of Pakistan Penal Code section 295-c of the desecration of religion.
These rules contain, anyone who uses the words, either orally or in writing directly or indirectly, defiled the sacred name of Prophet Muhammad should be sentenced to death, or life imprisonment, and also be responsible. Thus was launched Softpedia, Sunday (06/20/2010).
Siddique said Zahar, Zuckerberg not only to investigate, but also others such as facebook founder Dustin Moskovitz and Chris Hughes. Even the lawyers also demanded police action against ‘Andy’, a woman who allegedly made the fan page contest drawing.
CO2 Control Temperature Changes Since Last Year Million
Sains August 12th, 2010
WASHINGTON – A new finding reveals that climate change has turned carbon dioxide into the main factors that control the global temperature over millions of years.
A research team led by researchers from Brown University, said the climate in the tropics during the 2.7 million-year change with the spread and retreat of ice layers in the northern region.
“At first we thought had a simple explanation for the change from ice age to the tropics by carbon dioxide. But in fact, it’s not easy as expected. We believe, the answer was in the sea,” explained one researcher Timothy Herbert, as quoted by Science Daily, Monday (21/06/2010).
The team analyzed the changes that occur in the seabed of the Arabian Sea, South China Sea, eastern Pacific and equatorial Atlantic Ocean.
Their findings indicate that the climate patterns in the tropics have the Ice Age cycles within a period of 2.7 million last year, and carbon dioxide has played a major role in determining global climate patterns.
Seeing the remains of tiny marine organisms chemistry, scientists are able to infer sea surface temperature 3.5 million last year, and found that when it reaches the temperature of the ice age 1-3 degrees centigrade.
“Tropical reproduce this pattern both in the cooling that accompanies the Northern Hemisphere glaciation and the time those changes,” said Herbert.
“The biggest surprise for us was how similar pattern appeared in all tropical regions since about 2.7 million years ago. We do not expect these similarities,” he added.
The scientists also match the data with the record levels of carbon dioxide in the last 800,000 years, which includes seven years before the ice age ended, from ice cores taken in Antarctica.
They found that carbon dioxide in the atmosphere fell by around 30 percent in each cycle, and that most absorbed by the North Atlantic and Southern Ocean. This pattern began 2.7 million years ago, and the amount of atmospheric carbon dioxide is absorbed by the oceans has intensified with each successive ice age.
“It seems likely that changes in carbon dioxide is the most important reason why tropical temperatures change, along with water vapor feedback,” said Herbert.
